Chesapeake, VA--On Monday, February 19, Grassfire.org Alliance, in partnership with RapidResponse Media, Inc. will begin a major advertising campaign urging President Bush to pardon imprisioned Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. The 30- and 60-second TV spots were produced by Demos Chrissos of RapidResponse Media, and will be debuting in Washington, DC next week. Similar radio spots are planned for release later this week.

To fund these spots, Grassfire.org is appealing to the more than 325,000 citizens who have already signed a national petition demanding the President pardon agents Ramos and Compean. “People are outraged by this miscarriage of justice,” says Steve Elliott, president of Grassfire.org. “Television is a powerful medium, and I believe grassroots Americans will eagerly step up to put these spots right under the President’s nose!”

The “man-on-the-street” spots feature citizens expressing outrage over an admitted Mexican drug smuggler who was shot resisting arrest and then given immunity to return to the US to testify against the two Border Patrol agents who tried to arrest him. Each expresses concern that the Border Patrol agents are in serious danger, and they ask that the agents be pardoned and released.
