Maxwell, IA—Over the last 24 hours, more than 100,000 Grassfire team members have phoned and faxed their condemnation over a third attempt to pass the Dream Act that in truth represents “backdoor blanket amnesty” to millions. Grassfire team members have expressed outrage over yet another attempt to ramrod amnesty down the throats of the American people.

“The majority voice in America has made their position clear three times on the Dream Act,” says Steve Elliott, President of Grassfire.org. “They rejected the Dream Act when it was part of the Ted Kennedy amnesty bill; they soundly rejected Dick Durbin’s mad-dash to attach it to an appropriations bill.”

Each time the grassroots response has intensified. “Harry Reid, Durbin and the rest of their open border cohorts are feeling the wrath of the American people like never before!” says Elliott. “Durbin’s arrogant and defiant promise to the American people that a version of the Dream Act would be passed before the fall was like pouring gas on smoldering fire. The American people are tired of being disrespected. They are tired of pandering lawmakers. They will be heard!”

Grassfire has been updating and directing team members throughout the immigration debate--updating the latest positions of Senators on their FireSociety.com site, as well as through daily email updates. “I think we’ve reached a point in this amnesty debate where we need to start asking lawmakers ‘what must be done to get you to listen to the voice of the American citizens?’”
