Chesapeake, VA—Despite outrageous media-hype urging citizens to “save the planet”, a growing number of Americans are rejecting Climate Alarmism—including more than 76,000 who have signed a national petition opposing Climate Alarmism and the $1.2 trillion Global Warming Tax.

The petitions have been gathered in less than a week by Grassfire.org, one of the nation’s largest grassroots conservative organizations. View the petition here.

“The hyped fear that mankind has created a ‘planetary emergency’ is certainly debatable and in the minds of many scientists unfounded,” says Steve Elliott, President of Grassfire.org. “I’m thrilled that Americans are searching for and finding the real truth about this issue and not buying into the doomsday predictions or proposed solutions of the Climate Alarmists that are irresponsible and dangerous.”

In less than a week, more than 76,000 petitions have been signed--with hundreds more adding their names every hour. “Americans support the notion of being good stewards of the earth,” says Elliott. “But when Al Gore and the Climate Alarmists rush to push a massive taxing scheme that will have little or no real impact on the alleged problem of rising CO2 emissions, citizens are skeptical.”

Elliott notes the growing body of scientific evidence that brings into question the validity of the Gore theory, and points a finger of blame at the media for advancing the radical climate agenda while silencing opposing views. “The media needs to stop blindly promoting this dangerous agenda and instead engage in a free and open debate—away from the anti-scientific, anti-democratic intimidation tactics designed to put people in a panic.”
