60,000 Citizens Send Faxes To Congress Countering Liberal
Attacks On President Bush

WASHINGTON, D.C. August 25 /U.S. Newswire/ -- In response to the calls by liberal groups for “independent investigations” of the President, more than 60,000 citizens have taken part in a fax campaign to Capitol Hill leaders registering their support for the President.

The fax campaign, sponsored by Grassfire – one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing grassroots conservative organizations – will deliver faxes to ten key leaders in Congress along with all 100 members of the Senate. “This effort shows that grassroots Americans are fed up with the partisan attacks of the ultra-left,” says Grassfire President Steve Elliott. “The calls for ‘independent investigations’ of President Bush and the war in Iraq are nothing more than a well-orchestrated political attack campaign.”

The faxes are being delivered over the next several weeks, coinciding with Congress’ return from the summer recess. The fax message expresses concern for the “efforts of the media, certain members of Congress and liberal activist groups who are turning the war into an opportunity to undermine and weaken the President. Such politically motivated attacks place our nation and even our troops at greater risk. I stand behind President Bush.”

Last October, Grassfire launched a national “Support the Commander-in-Chief” petition that to date has rallied more than 330,000 citizens. Additionally, Grassfire has been at the forefront in the effort to support our troops—even placing 100 billboards of support in Kuwait City during the height of the war.
